Weaving Together
"Weaving Together" is a series of ongoing community-oriented weaving events started over five years ago by Weaving Hand Founder & Director Cynthia Alberto. Each loom is designed specifically for each weaving activation. These public weaving projects honor traditional weaving techniques and incorporate unconventional materials with a zero-waste philosophy. Weaving Together events give community members a chance to contribute to public weaving activities. Traveling to different communities, Cynthia invites people of all backgrounds and experience levels to join us for a day or weekend of weaving. In an age where we are so connected virtually, it is important to cultivate relationships around a communal physical activity. We invite people to bring their own materials, adding a layer of diversity and inclusion that reflects the spirit of the community.
