"Weaving Together" is a series of ongoing community-oriented weaving events started over 5 years ago by Weaving Hand Founder and Director Cynthia Alberto Each loom is designed specifically for each weaving activation. These public weaving projects honor traditional weaving techniques and incorporate unconventional materials with a zero-waste philosophy.
Weaving Together events give community members a chance to contribute to public weaving activities. Traveling to different communities, Cynthia invites people of all backgrounds and experience levels to join us for a day or weekend of weaving. In an age where we are so connected virtually, it is important to cultivate relationships around a communal physical activity. We invite people to bring their own materials, adding a layer of diversity and inclusion that reflects the spirit of the community.
