Wearable Art Series #II, 2015
Materials: Synthetic Hair and Cotton Yarns
Wearable Art Series II uses the woven pieces from Hair Series II to continue the exploration of art as a wearable object. The second series uses portraiture to frame the people in a way that captures a feeling of pride. Channeling the energy from old portraits of world royalty, the woven pieces are reminiscent of the lavish traditional dress often worn in photographs. The models were asked to place their hand on the outside of the garment mimicking the stances in traditional portraiture.
